The school offers a dynamic environment with a collaborative spirit, led by a principal who brings special education expertise to everyday leadership. You'll join a supportive team, including a full-time interventionist and a Social-Emotional Learning counselor, serving a close-knit school with approximately 100 students. The caseload centers around 22 students with mild to moderate specific learning disabilities, primarily in math and literacy, ensuring you can focus on impactful, individualized support.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility to obtain one in Vermont)
- Experience working with students with mild to moderate specific learning disabilities, especially in math and literacy
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to design and adapt instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Passion for fostering student growth in inclusive environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction based on student IEPs
- Develop lesson plans targeting students’ specific academic goals in math and literacy
- Collaborate with staff, including interventionists and SEL counselor
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster positive family and community relationships
