Project Technician

Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Overview

The Project Technician provides vital administrative and technical support to the Project Management and Field Operations teams. This role helps maintain project documentation, assists with scheduling and budget tracking, and ensures timely communication between the office, field crews, vendors, and subcontractors. The Project Technician plays a key role in driving efficiency and consistency across all phases of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, track, and manage project documents such as RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and change orders
  • Maintain organized project logs and files using tools like Procore andAutoDesk
  • Distribute project drawings, specifications, and revisions to field teams and subcontractors
  • Assistwith permitting and inspection coordination with localjurisdictions
  • Support the scheduling of key project activities, meetings, and inspections
  • Monitor and report on project timelines, deliverables, and short-term schedules
  • Coordinate material orders with vendors and ensuretimelydelivery to job sites
  • Track subcontractor compliance, including COIs, safety documents, and certifications
  • Assistin reviewing vendor invoices and tracking job costs for budget accuracy
  • Interface with field supervisors to gather daily reports and site data
  • Coordinate deliveries of tools, materials, and equipment to the field as needed
  • Assistin setting up job accounts with vendors and organizing project folders
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to workflows and documentation processes
  • Other duties as assigned to support team and company goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 2+ years ina constructionadministration, project coordination, or technician role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling, financial tracking, and material procurement
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, and industry safety standards preferred
  • Proficiencyin project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across teams
  • Problem-solving mindset and commitment to continuous learning
