Contract Details
- Duration: 14 Weeks
- Shift: Night Shift
- Schedule: 3 Days/Week (3x12s)
- Shift Timing: 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
- Hours: 34.5–37.5 hours/week
- Compensation: $69/hr – $88/hr (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Maternal & Child Health and Labor & Delivery to provide comprehensive nursing care for mothers, newborns, and pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise in obstetric, neonatal, and postpartum care while ensuring safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for maternal, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
- Support patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during labor and delivery procedures.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) therapy.
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures.
- Provide neonatal resuscitation support when required.
- Monitor patients receiving conscious sedation when applicable.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
- Educate patients and families regarding childbirth, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Primary Source Verification through NYSED.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child Health experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience.
Required Certifications
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery environment.
- Strong maternal, neonatal, and pediatric assessment skills.
