Job Description

As a Security Officer - Hospital Patrol in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will support patients, visitors, and staff through strong customer service, detailed reporting, and teamwork. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following site-specific procedures, access control practices, and security-related protocols in a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with clinical staff and/or local emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Monitor and document activity through routine rounds, observation, and report writing, promptly communicating concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Support emergency response activities such as evacuations, lockdowns, and patient or visitor assistance, following established procedures and maintaining a professional presence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hospital vaccines are required.
  • Ability to work in a hospital morgue is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to restrain individuals in a hospital setting is required.
  • Loss prevention is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
