Engineering Manager | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $113,000 - $162,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize operational efficiency and product quality.
- Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing lean manufacturing principles and advanced engineering techniques.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies within all engineering activities.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering management within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality systems.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
- Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
