Senior Network Engineer – Secret Clearance
Location: Joint Base Andrews (JBA) — Full-time onsite
Additional Certification Requirements:
- Active CompTIA Security+ or CCNP Security certification (8140 Compliance)
- Active CCNA certification (8140 Compliance)
Role Overview:
Minimum / General Experience
- 8 years of experience analyzing, identifying, and resolving complex network hardware, circuit, and transmission logic issues
- Expertise in designing, installing, and performing acceptance testing of high-speed, enterprise-level networks
- Skilled in applying network transmission principles to troubleshoot malfunctions
Functional Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision, the Network Engineer will:
- Design network systems and coordinate their installation and acceptance testing
- Ensure correct configuration and monitor network hardware operations
- Plan, evaluate, and recommend network enhancements and upgrades through cost/benefit analyses
- Guide acquisition, installation, and testing of network hardware
- Advise users on hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations
- Troubleshoot network problems proactively or through strategic workarounds
- Potentially supervise and guide support staff as needed
