Field Technician


Location: Tulsa OK, Oklahoma City OK, Wichita KS or Midland TX

Description

We are executing a project to deploy new Cisco routers to 1400+ sites in an 18-month engagement. We are recruiting a candidate who has strong field communications skills, experience in racking and stacking network equipment, routing cables and working with other teams to ensure up-time and consistent communication during the project.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Network communications understanding
  • Experience with LAN/WAN technologies
  • Racking and stacking equipment
  • Cable installation (Cat5, Cat6, Fiber, etc..)


Experience with the following technologies are highly encouraged but not all are mandatory:

  • Cisco/Aruba experience
  • VSAT
  • Ubiquiti Radios
  • UPS installation and support


Optional Experience/Skills

  • Project lead, organizing project tasks
  • Strong desktop skills, software troubleshooting skills
  • Windows 11 Experience, upgrades, feature updates
  • Microsoft Office
  • Application Installation and Troubleshooting
  • Hardware Installation and Troubleshooting


Project Details
We have 1400+ sites that have isolated connections that have minimal IT oversite. Each site will have a router installed that will utilize the existing connection method (VSAT, cellular, etc....) to provide additional management capabilities.

The project will require weekly travel for approximately 18 months. Site locations and recommended solutions have been defined. Project Management will oversee scheduling in advance. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to manage their time to meet deadlines and accommodate travel.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy network equipment at field locations, following guidelines provided
  • Ensure successful connectivity before and after installation.
  • Document all issues
  • Communicate risks and outages immediately
