Job Title: Systems Administrator

Department: IT

Reports to: AVP, Information Technology



Position Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth IT operations.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Respond to user inquiries and provide technical support via phone, email, or in-person
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Document and track issues using a ticketing system
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices and tools
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours to support on location auctions
  • Be flexible to perform the needed tasks to get the job done
  • Able to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision, but also a team player
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization including Executive Management

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 apps, Intune, and Defender ATP
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting and network concepts
  • Experience running and terminating cat5 network cables
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Customer-oriented with a focus on providing excellent service
  • Position requires excellent communication and time management skills
  • Mobile device management using Intune or similar systems

Culture

Barrett-Jackson's culture is live and in-person. Team members are in the office 5 days per week, 8am to 5pm at the Scottsdale, AZ headquarters. During live events the company largely travels together to produce and ensure each event is a success. This requires weekend work and long hours.
