Amphenol is seeking a motivated Junior IT Help Desk Intern to support our IT team with day-to-day technical support activities. This internship provides hands-on experience working with computer hardware, software troubleshooting, and end-user support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The intern will assist with equipment setup, basic troubleshooting, inventory management, and other IT support functions while learning best practices in corporate IT operations. This is an excellent opportunity for students or early-career individuals interested in gaining practical experience in IT support, systems administration, and enterprise technology environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up computer equipment for new employees including desktops, laptops, monitors, and printers.
- Support installation and configuration of Windows-based PCs, software, and related peripherals.
- Help troubleshoot basic end-user technical issues related to computers, printers, and software.
- Assist the IT team in responding to help desk requests via phone, email, or in person.
- Help maintain IT inventory records including hardware, software, and warranty tracking.
- Assist with hardware maintenance and device lifecycle activities, including computer deployments and equipment decommissioning.
- Support documentation efforts by helping create simple user guides and reference materials.
- Participate in basic network and equipment checks under the guidance of IT staff.
- Assist with organizing equipment, cables, and workspace areas in the IT storage and server room environments.
- Provide general support to the IT department on ongoing projects and daily operations.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or interested in pursuing studies in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, Windows operating systems, and common office software.
- Strong interest in learning about IT support and enterprise technology environments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills when assisting employees.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience with PC troubleshooting, help desk environments, or school IT labs.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements
The intern may occasionally be required to lift and move computer equipment up to 40 pounds, assist with workstation setups, and work in office or server room environments.
Work Environment
This internship is based in an office and manufacturing support environment. Work will primarily take place in office areas, IT workspaces, and occasional visits to server rooms or production areas to assist with equipment support.

- No relocation or housing package is offered.
