Your Role as a Maintenance Technician:
- General Maintenance & Repairs – Perform structural repairs, including sheetrock/drywall, carpentry, painting, plumbing (unblocking sinks/toilets, repairing leaks), and basic electrical repairs.
- Facility & Grounds Upkeep – Maintain cleanliness and safety of outdoor areas, perform snow removal, landscaping (mowing, weeding, raking), and janitorial services as needed.
- Preventative Maintenance & Inspections – Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules, conduct semi-annual safety inspections, and ensure proper use and storage of tools.
- Installation & Assembly – Replace light bulbs, ballasts, fixtures, and emergency lighting systems; install bulletin boards, pictures, and signage.
- Furniture & Floor Maintenance – Assist with moving furniture, replacing ceiling tiles, cleaning carpets, mopping floors, and performing floor maintenance (buffing, waxing, stripping).
- Compliance & Safety – Adhere to safety policies, PPE requirements, and exposure control measures while maintaining student confidentiality under FERPA/HIPAA guidelines.
- Vendor & Emergency Support – Meet with contractors, maintain inventory of tools and equipment, respond to after-hours emergency calls, and travel to regional locations as needed.
- Administrative Duties – Complete work logs, work order status forms, timesheets, and attend required training and supervision sessions.
- Other Duties – Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years of experience in general repair services
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Basic knowledge of drywall repair, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
