North Houston | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Due to the nature of the work and applicable government regulations, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Team Lead to lead and support a secure, mission-critical IT environment serving both commercial and government operations. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with compliance-driven infrastructure management, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability across hybrid environments.

You will lead a skilled infrastructure team while serving as the technical authority for complex systems spanning Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, and NetApp. Experience working in regulated environments (NIST, STIG, CMMC) is essential. Exposure to Citrix is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing infrastructure team responsible for enterprise systems
  • Oversee daily operations and lifecycle management of Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, and NetApp platforms
  • Ensure infrastructure meets CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, STIG, and internal governance standards
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to align system configurations and vulnerability remediation
  • Design and maintain scalable infrastructure supporting classified and unclassified environments
  • Lead infrastructure upgrades, patch management, disaster recovery testing, and capacity planning
  • Collaborate with application and network teams to maintain performance, resiliency, and security
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, SOPs, and automation to drive standardization
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex, mission-critical infrastructure issues

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience
  • 3+ years in a leadership or senior engineering role

Technical Expertise (Priority Order)

  • Linux systems administration (OEL / RHEL)
  • VMware vSphere and Hyper-V virtualization
  • NetApp storage (SAN/NAS, replication, snapshots)
  • Windows Server 2016-2022 and Active Directory
  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (preferred, not required)
  • Network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls)
  • Azure or other cloud experience (plus)

Compliance Knowledge

  • Demonstrated experience with NIST 800-171, STIG, and CMMC in regulated IT environments

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified (Windows Server or Azure)
  • VMware VCP
  • NetApp Certification
  • Security+, CISSP, or equivalent
