Job Title: Quality Control Manager

Job Description

The Quality Control Manager leads and oversees all quality assurance and quality control activities within a manufacturing facility. This role develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive Quality Management System to ensure that all products meet established company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The manager supervises a team of quality professionals and works closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement across all production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the facility’s Quality Management System to ensure consistent product quality and compliance.
  • Establish, document, and enforce quality control policies, procedures, and documentation standards across the organization.
  • Manage and maintain all quality-related records, reports, and certification documentation to ensure accuracy and traceability.
  • Oversee incoming material inspections, in-process quality checks, and final product inspections to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, sampling procedures, and acceptance criteria for materials, components, and finished products.
  • Ensure calibration, verification, and maintenance of all quality testing and measurement equipment to maintain measurement accuracy.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate quality control technicians and inspectors to build a high-performing quality team.
  • Set clear performance goals and expectations for quality control staff and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Foster and promote a quality-first culture throughout the organization, emphasizing prevention of defects and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to identify root causes and resolve quality issues at the source.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Use data and quality metrics to monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Support audits and customer visits by providing documentation, explanations of quality processes, and evidence of compliance.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of quality control or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management role leading quality teams.
  • Strong knowledge of inspection techniques, including visual inspection, dimensional inspection, and sampling methods.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools and quality testing equipment used in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain inspection plans, sampling procedures, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience implementing and managing a Quality Management System in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality principles, including quality control, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present data to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation, records, and certification requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment, including exposure to non-climate-controlled conditions.
  • Experience in manufacturing quality systems such as QMS and quality control management.
  • Ability to foster a quality-first culture and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort working with and interpreting quality data, metrics, and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and develop quality technicians and inspectors.

Work Environment

This role operates on a first-shift schedule, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with an occasional Friday workday extending until lunchtime. The position is based in a non–climate-controlled manufacturing plant, which means the environment can be hot during warm weather and cold during cooler seasons. Personal protective equipment requirements include steel-toed boots provided by the employee, while other PPE such as welding hoods, gloves, safety glasses, and jackets is supplied. The work setting involves typical manufacturing conditions, including exposure to noise, machinery, and production activity, and requires consistent adherence to safety procedures and use of provided protective gear.

This is a Permanent position based out of Dothan, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
