About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Service Writer to join our Maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for creating and managing work orders, supporting maintenance processes, and handling various administrative duties that directly impact our fleet's performance and our drivers' satisfaction. About the Role

As a Service Writer at Nova Lines, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our trucks and trailers are serviced efficiently and ready for the road. You will work closely with shop leadership, mechanics, vendors, and drivers to coordinate repairs, and maintain accurate records. This position requires a strong mix of communication, organizational skills, and technical understanding of truck maintenance, making you an integral part of our operations.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage work orders for repairs and equipment invoices.
  • Support drivers with repair requests and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Oversee daily yard checks, key inventory, and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate orientation equipment and manage inspection documentation.
  • Communicate with vendors and coordinate services such as towing, repairs, and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records in systems like TMT and Mcleod.
  • Arrange driver lodging or transportation as needed.
  • Perform various administrative tasks to support shop operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and Google software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Previous experience in the trucking, fleet, or automotive industry.
  • A valid driver’s license is required; CDL is preferred.
  • A diesel mechanic or fleet maintenance certification is highly desirable.
