About the Role:
Veracity Ventures Inc. is looking for a talented and driven Lead Optical Engineer specializing in Stray Light to join our growing team in Rochester, NY. Skills & Experience:
- 7–10+ years of relevant optical engineering experience
- Strong stray-light analysis and non-sequential optical modeling experience
- 2–3 years with FRED or similar stray-light analysis tools
- Experience with space-based EO/IR, imaging, sensing, or high-performance optical systems
- Knowledge of scattering, ghosting, BSDF/BRDF, radiometric performance, throughput, SNR, and image quality
- Experience with baffles, stops, surface treatments, contamination control, and optical alignment
- Zemax OpticStudio and/or Code V experience
- Optical metrology experience with interferometers, autocollimators, laser trackers, or phase retrieval
- MATLAB and/or Python experience
- Experience supporting optical design, integration, testing, verification, troubleshooting, and technical documentation
- Ability to obtain a federal security clearance
Education:
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
