Senior Engineering Project Manager, Manufacturing Scale-Up + Global Capital Projects (Specialty C...
Job Description
What if the next project you run is the one that takes a breakthrough material from the lab to the factory floor, at the scale that makes it real? This is the senior project manager who turns a first-to-market technology into product across a fast-growing manufacturing network.
𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗬
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a publicly traded global manufacturer of specialty chemicals and advanced electronic materials, with more than $2.5 billion in annual revenue and operations in over 50 countries. Inside that established company sits a fast-moving, startup-style division built around a breakthrough materials platform that powers the AI, electric-vehicle, datacenter, and semiconductor boom, backed by a capital program of more than $150 million to scale it across multiple new plants.
𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
This is a high-visibility seat reporting into global engineering project leadership. You personally own the most business-critical builds, not a slice of someone else's program, and your work lands in front of senior leadership and shapes financial commitments. You get the scope and pace of a startup with the resources of an established, multi-billion-dollar company behind you.
𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗘𝗫𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗦
The company is racing to be first to market with a material that conducts electricity and manages heat better than the standard, and demand is being pulled by the biggest names in computing. Turning that material into product at scale takes disciplined project management across chemical production scale-ups, technology development, systems engineering, and the capital projects that build the plants. That is your mandate.
𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘
You are good at running projects. At a large, settled company you may wait years for a program this visible, with this much financial weight and this much room to set how it gets done. Here you step straight into the high-priority builds, influence across engineering, operations, and R&D, and see your impact in weeks, not quarters. If you have been waiting for a build-it-now mandate with real backing, this is it.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬
You lead high-priority engineering initiatives end to end, from scoping and planning through execution, partnering across Engineering, Operations, Continuous Improvement, Product Management, and R&D worldwide. You report into global engineering project leadership and operate as the person accountable for delivering the builds that matter most, including the productization and manufacturing scale-up of the platform.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘
• Lead the scoping, planning, and execution of high-priority engineering projects centered on productization and manufacturing scale-up
• Build project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource strategies tied to business priorities and customer commitments
• Drive cross-functional execution across Engineering, Operations, Continuous Improvement, Product Management, and R&D globally
• Manage risk early with proactive mitigation and contingency plans
• Give senior leadership clear reporting and insight to support key business and financial decisions
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings, clear bottlenecks, and keep teams aligned
• Improve the project-management processes, tools, and portfolio tracking the function runs on
• Contribute directly to initiatives that move revenue, cost, and operational efficiency
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞
This is a fast, high-pressure, high-visibility seat with real financial stakes. You will juggle competing priorities and ambiguity under a leadership push to be first to market, influence teams you do not directly manage, and make fast calls with incomplete information. If you want a settled program with fixed scope and a predictable week, this is not it. If you want to build and deliver under real urgency, you will thrive.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚
𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱:
• Strong project-management track record running multiple complex engineering projects at once, ideally including factory startups, scale-up, or capital projects
• Ability to influence, align, and drive accountability across cross-functional teams without direct authority
• Advanced risk assessment, mitigation planning, and decision-making under pressure
• Solid grasp of engineering processes, manufacturing, and technical roadmaps
• Comfort connecting day-to-day execution to business objectives and financial outcomes
𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:
• Background in specialty chemicals, advanced materials, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing
• Experience standing up PM processes, tools, or portfolio tracking from scratch
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, beneficial, not required
𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗙𝗜𝗧𝗦
𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆: $109,000 to $164,000
𝗕𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀: annual performance bonus on top of base
𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀: strong 401(k) match plus an additional company contribution, an employee stock purchase plan, medical with an employer health savings account (HSA) contribution, company-paid life and disability, and generous paid time off
𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: on-site at the company's Piscataway, New Jersey engineering center, within commuting range of central and northern New Jersey and the greater New York metro
