Location: Remote - USA
Full Salary Range: $91,783.74 – 137,675.62
Hiring Salary Range: $91,783.74 – 114,729.68
Primary Responsibilities:
The Core Banking Administrator is responsible for managing, coordinating, and testing core platform upgrades, with a primary focus on the credit union’s core banking system, Fiserv DNA. This highly collaborative role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of core banking systems.
The detail-oriented position acts as a liaison between IT and business units, ensuring system changes meet business requirements, are fully tested, and comply with operational and regulatory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage Fiserv DNA core and core surround banking upgrades, hotfixes, and patches, including planning, scheduling, testing, and deployment support.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of core banking modules, configuration settings, workflows, and user impacts.
- Collaborate with vendor support teams and internal stakeholders to track issues, apply fixes, and validate system changes.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the DNA core banking platform, providing application support and consulting to business units.
- Work with business owners and analysts to identify, plan, and test upgrades or updates for systems they manage.
- Provide encouragement to business owners to implement new features in upgrades, reporting features not implemented to executive management for further consideration.
- Assist in the development and execution of test plans, scripts, and use cases to validate application functionality, performance, and integration.
- Track and report on test outcomes, documenting issues, and coordinating retesting and resolution.
- Serve as a key liaison between IT, branches, operations, compliance, lending, finance, and other departments during application testing and upgrade events.
- Participate in vendor meetings, system reviews, and project planning to ensure alignment between technology and operational goals.
- Provide end-user training and documentation as needed for system changes and enhancements.
- Ensure all testing and change control activities follow NCUA, FFIEC, and internal IT policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to system changes, test results, version histories, and deployment outcomes.
- Support audits, IT exams, and internal reviews by providing clear, accurate records and evidence of due diligence.
- Monitor system performance and user feedback post-upgrade to identify improvement opportunities.
- Analyze system usage trends and suggest optimizations, automation, or new functionality.
- Assist with system enhancement projects and coordinate with vendors for support and issue resolution.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of direct administrative experience with Fiserv DNA, including configuration, upgrade management, and testing.
- Experience working in a credit union or financial institution.
- Extensive experience writing and executing test scripts, coordinating system upgrades, and performing cross-functional testing.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle, QA methodologies, and change management practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments on complex topics.
Skills and Competencies
- Exposure to other systems commonly used in credit unions such as digital banking platforms, loan origination systems, or ECM tools.
- Experience using ticketing systems or project/task management platforms (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Service Desk Plus, Smartsheet, Asana, or Microsoft Project/Planner).
- Excellent communication skills and a drive to ensure exceptional service is provided to internal customers.
- Strong problem-solving, issue resolution, and project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing demands in a dynamic environment.
