Job DescriptionJob Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various equipment and systems within our facility. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and automated systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Duties:
- Reactive Maintenance: Respond to production calls and equipment issues promptly. Perform on‑line repairs, make necessary settings and setup adjustments to improve line efficiency, and restore equipment to full operation as quickly and safely as possible.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in machinery and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Root Cause Analysis and Process Improvement: Trace problems to their root cause and implement solutions to resolve issues more permanently. Work with engineering and fabrication to implement long-term solutions for common problems.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Ensure all work is documented in compliance with regulatory requirements. Use CMMS to track and log work, manage parts used, etc.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working on machinery. Participate in safety training and ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize impact on production schedules. Work with other technicians to complete tasks and share knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in mechatronics, industrial automation, mechanical engineering or related field a plus.
- Experience: 2-5 years of field experience, preferably in automated food packaging equipment or food processing environment.
- Entry-Level Consideration: Candidates with limited experience will also be considered if they demonstrate strong technical aptitude, mechanical ability, and a willingness to learn.
- English Required. Bilingual is a plus. (English/Spanish)
Experience:
- Proven experience as an industrial technician in food processing or in a similar maintenance role.
- Familiarity with low voltage, mechanical and control systems preferred.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot and critical problem solving.
- Must possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of automated machinery used in food supplement manufacturing.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in food production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using a CMMS like MaintainX for documentation.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, maintenance-specific certifications) are a plus.
