Job DescriptionThe Forklift Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing powered industrial trucks to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in forklift and industrial equipment maintenance.Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair forklifts, including electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, and transmission systems
- Perform preventive maintenance such as inspections, oil changes, and battery care
- Maintain and service industrial batteries, chargers, and related equipment
- Record labor, parts, and maintenance activity accurately in a CMMS
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, technical or trade school preferred
- Minimum 6 years of forklift or material handling equipment maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools and electrical meters
- Welding experience and manufacturer certifications (Crown, Raymond, Hyster, etc.) preferred
