The Housing Team at Jefferson Center supports over 400 voucher holders throughout Jefferson County and the Denver metro region. Housing Specialists administer Housing Choice Vouchers, Permanent Supportive Housing, State Housing Vouchers, Section 811 Program and related services and other subsidies. Housing Specialists also provide targeted case management and supportive services to housing clients as needed.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology or related field required.
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- Consistent evidence of timely and accurate work products required to be considered for hiring.
- Must be able to complete certifications to access statewide and national systems (ELITE, EIV, HMIS & Tenmast) and complete HQS Inspections within 3 months of employment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Essential Duties:
- Administer/maintain Housing Choice Vouchers, Permanent Supportive Housing Vouchers, State Housing Vouchers and related services or subsidies.
- Process annual recertifications, interim changes and/or moves including obtaining current third-party verification of participant information in accordance with program requirements.
- Assist participants in completing housing paperwork as needed
- Complete Department of Housing (DOH), Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and all housing related paperwork in a timely manner utilizing the ELITE and Tenmast systems as required. Complete all resident certification and compliance reports; including Enterprise Income Verification (EIV).
- Document in the Homeless Management and Information System (HMIS) as appropriate.
- Perform Housing Quality Standard (HQS) inspections and work with landlords and customers to meet guidelines for housing subsidies. Liaison with landlords and other programs/agencies to ensure good working relationships and customer service.
- Maintain updated list of landlords. Assist clients with locating affordable housing and receiving other Navigation and Jefferson Center services as needed. Educate clients, families and Jefferson Center staff of eligibility process for various programs. Compile and circulate required information to Jefferson Center staff, customers and families.
- Document appointments and services according to Jefferson Center procedures.
- Provides support and services to Navigation Program customers as needed.
- Exhibits enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment.
- Maintains effective interpersonal relationships with customers, peers, subordinates, upper management, visitors and the general public.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize concerns, and effectively manage time independently.
- Attends mandatory in-services, compliance with individualized training plan if required.
- Participates in supervision by coming prepared with an agenda. Reports high risk/problem cases, and utilizes a problem solving approach as well as feedback. Attends supervision at times and intervals agreed upon with supervisor.
- Documents all contacts according to Jefferson Center and Navigation Program standards while meeting productivity standards as identified by the Program Director.
- Works cooperatively with other community agencies, as appropriate, and in agreement with supervisor. Volunteers to work on Center committees and/or task forces.
- Participate in Evidenced Based Practices and other agency initiatives including Trauma Informed Care as well as other best practices.

Salary Grade 10: $25.00/hour ($52,000 annually)*
- The hourly rate listed above includes a 10% differential for Spanish fluency requirement.
- The salary range above is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.*
