Role Description The Assembler role at McNeilus Steel, Inc. in Morristown, TN is a full-time, on-site position focused on assembling metal components and products according to specifications and work orders. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings, selecting and preparing materials, and using hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery to fit, fasten, and assemble parts. Assemblers inspect components and finished products for quality, accuracy, and safety, and may perform basic measuring, cutting, drilling, or grinding as needed. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized work area, following all safety procedures, and collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and timelines. Employees may assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing completed assemblies for shipment or further processing.

- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions, and follow established assembly procedures.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, gauges) in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality, including inspecting parts and assemblies for defects, alignment, and proper fit.
- Strong safety awareness, including adherence to company safety policies, use of required personal protective equipment, and safe operation of equipment.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials and products within reasonable weight limits, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with supervisors, machine operators, and other assemblers.
- Reliable attendance and time management, with the ability to follow schedules and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication
