Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this contract role, you will provide essential administrative and legal support to attorneys, ensuring the seamless operation of daily tasks and processes. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent communication skills, and demonstrates a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities: • Draft and format legal documents, correspondence, presentations, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office and document management systems. • Handle administrative tasks such as conducting conflict checks, opening new matters, processing expense reports, and managing attorney time entries. • Organize and maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate conference calls, and arrange travel plans. • Develop and sustain efficient filing systems to ensure easy access and retrieval of legal documents. • Assist in e-filing and court filings, ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulations. • Support event coordination, including firm-related meetings and office gatherings. • Provide general support for ad hoc tasks, office projects, or other duties as assigned. • Facilitate dictation and transcription tasks to assist attorneys with documentation. • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
The pay range for this position is 25 to 35. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
