TAT Piedmont (Piedmont Aviation Component Services) is looking for qualified MPG Painting Technician. APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is a turbine engine utilized on the aircraft to provide electrical and pneumatic power during periods when the main engines are not running.

Schedules available:

WEEKEND - Friday - Sunday (12hrs), 6:00am - 6:30pm (Work 36 hours = Paid 40 Hours)

The following is a list of job duties that an MPG Painting Technician will perform:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the cleaning, prepping (masking parts per blueprints), painting, drying and travelers related to components, parts and tools.
  • Read and comply with work instructions.
  • Accurately complete work orders, BOMs, data inputs within ERP system.
  • Read and understand Commercial, FAA, EASA, Repair Station, and ISO documentations.
  • Must be familiar with epoxy primers and top coats to a high gloss finish without runs, sags, or dry spray feed using gravity paint gun.
  • Understand and practice safe and efficient productive use of tools.
  • Immediately report to any supervisor any safety, quality or un-ethical actions or conditions they perceive to exist for immediate evaluation and resolution.
  • Operate, maintain and service specialized equipment.
  • Follow proper mixing rations, induction times and dry times, as well as use mil gage to check paint thickness as required.
  • Identify improper and unacceptable finish application and have the ability to problem solve paint application issues and then repair issues.
  • Manage time to complete paint tasks on time.

Requirements

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in aerospace or automotive.
  • Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test and be cleared to use a respirator.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quantum preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Read and adhere to verbal and written instructions.
  • Make basic decisions and work with deadlines while understanding pressure.
  • Work with people and communicate (both oral and written communication) with other personnel and management effectively.
