Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner


Assignment Details

Location: Princeton and Beckley, West Virginia

Provider Type: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Specialty: Urgent Care

Practice Setting: Outpatient Urgent Care

Coverage Type: Scheduled Day Coverage / No Call

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Expected Duration: Ongoing

Coverage Need: Full-Time

EMR: Epic


Compensation: $150/hr.


Schedule

Monday-Sunday

Shift: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM

Approximately 20 Shifts Per Month

Provider Will Rotate Between Multiple Urgent Care Locations

Locations Are Within Approximately 30 Miles of Each Other

No Call


Patient Population / Volume

Patient Population: All Ages, Including Pediatrics Age 6 Months+

Approximately 80% Adults / 20% Pediatrics

Average Volume: Approximately 3-4 Patients Per Hour


Clinical Responsibilities

Provide Outpatient Urgent Care Services

Evaluate and Treat Common Acute Illnesses and Minor Injuries

Treat Cold and Flu Symptoms

Evaluate and Treat Rashes and Abrasions

Manage Sprains and Minor Burns

Perform Wound Care

Perform Suturing

Perform Incision and Drainage

Perform Splinting and Other Basic Orthopedic Procedures

Interpret X-Rays and EKGs

Perform Blood Draws and Start IVs

Provide Pediatric Urgent Care

Refer Higher-Acuity Patients to the Emergency Department

Work Independently Without Onsite Supervision

Medical Assistants Available Onsite

Radiology Technicians Available Onsite

Sites Typically Staffed With 1-3 Providers Per Day

Provider Must Be Comfortable Working Independently

If a Physician Is Not Onsite, a Physician Will Be Remotely Available for Escalation


Requirements

Board Certified - Required

Active West Virginia License - Required at Time of Application

IMLC Not Accepted

DEA Registration - Required

West Virginia CSR License - Required

ACLS - Required

BLS - Required

PALS - Required

Minimum of 2 Years of Urgent Care Experience OR 1 Year of Emergency Medicine Experience - Required

Must Be Comfortable Treating Patients of All Ages, Including Pediatrics Age 6 Months+

Must Be Comfortable With Orthopedic Procedures, Including Splinting

Must Be Comfortable With Wound Care

Epic Experience - Required


Submission Requirements
