The DNA Group is seeking a Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer with extensive experience managing and maintaining DB2 databases on IBM System Z mainframes. This role is heavily focused on the planning, design, and implementation of standards, naming conventions, and multi–data center DB2 environments. You will lead database deployments, disaster recovery and high availability planning, and support major data center relocation initiatives. This position requires deep expertise with DB2, BMC tools, z/OS, and mainframe infrastructure, as well as strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Lead the adoption and implementation of advanced DB2 technologies and platforms
• Serve as a subject matter expert on DB2 functionality, performance, and system usage
• Provide consultancy and technical guidance to clients and internal teams regarding efficient DB2 utilization
• Create implementation plans, testing plans, integration plans, and deployment strategies
• Design and implement DB2 standards, naming conventions, and multi–data center architecture
• Oversee DB2 installation, support, roll-out, and configurations including BMC tools and utilities
• Support disaster recovery, high availability, and data center relocation projects
• Collaborate with application and data center teams to ensure robust DB2 system performance
• Utilize z/OS, TSO/ISPF, IBM utilities, SMP/E, Sysplex, and WLM for DB2 integration and optimization
• Provide leadership for data center projects and strategic mainframe modernization initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Extensive experience with DB2 on IBM System Z mainframes
• Strong understanding of z/OS, mainframe utilities, and DB2 integration frameworks
• Experience providing technical leadership and guidance across systems teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Implementation, Integration, and Test Plans: 16+ years (Desired)
• Hands-On Experience Platforms (DB2, BMC Tools, etc.): 16+ years (Highly Desired)
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Related Field: (Nice to Have)
• Industry Certification or Training in Relevant IT Platforms or Services: (Nice to Have)
