Job purpose

The Quality Control Technician provides quality leadership by providing support to manufacturing in the areas of quality and process control, product quality, procedural and systems audits. This includes testing of product, and recording and analyzing of results gathered during product development and production at CandyCo.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible to follow all plant GMP and safety guidelines.
  • Assures consistent quality and oversees inspection, physical tests, and procedures on the production floor.
  • Enforces good manufacturing practices and systems with employees working on the production floor.
  • Achieves quality by contributing information and preparing and completing action plans; identifying and resolving problems; determining system improvements; implementing change, enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Documents critical control points and preventative measure verifications during production.
  • Responsible for conducting testing procedures on equipment during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards.
  • Focuses on various procedures throughout the manufacturing process; Inspection of finished goods to find defects, check weights, etc.
  • Oversees the rework process by inspection and physical test methods and procedures.
  • Pulling incoming raw and finished samples for testing, inspect and verify all incoming and outgoing product and paperwork to ensure that products comply with quality standards.
  • Reviews finished good specifications prior to production

Qualifications

  • 1+ Year in manufacturing experience
  • Previous food manufacturing experience, preferably confectionary production.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; clearly and professionally.
  • Past experience in quality is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred

Working conditions

  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including Holidays and/or weekends
  • Standing/walking for long period of time
  • Must be an avid Safety Champion and adhere to all safety programs and procedures

Physical requirements

  • A non-slip resistant work shoe
  • Must be able to work all shifts as directed.
  • Pre-shift stretch and exercises to be performed
  • Ability to work on their feet 8+ hours at a time
  • Hair restraint, beard net (if needed), and Safety gloves as needed
  • All required PPEs are worn properly when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection
  • Position requires the ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walk around the facility, lifting and carrying up to 50-LBS unassisted, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting
  • Also requires the ability to: see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette
  • Hearing protection may be required
