H2K Solutions Inc. (H2K) is a rapidly growing government contractor that provides strategic IT services that meet mission needs for Defense and Federal customers. We are hiring a System Administrator for an exciting opportunity located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.
Job Description and Responsibilities
H2K is looking for a full-time Workstation / Server System Administrator who demonstrates the following capabilities and satisfies the Minimum Qualifications, Clearance, and Certification requirements. Employee responsibilities include:
The candidate shall provide system administration functions for computer systems in Nellis (with occasional support to Ft. Irwin) including NIPRNet and SIPRNet workstations and local area networks, Video Teleconferencing hardware, software, and networks (all locations), and installed audio/video equipment (all locations).
Candidate will perform Microsoft server and workstation administration activities to include OS management, Active Directory support, and Red Hat Linux support.
The candidate shall administer a wide range of computer platforms and operating systems including security functions; set up and manage user accounts; add system peripherals; troubleshoot and diagnose system and software problems. The candidate shall administer system applications; manage and install system software and upgrades to include unit software license management. The candidate shall administer local software components and monitor system performance; administer systems on unclassified and classified networks; and identify technical refresh requirements for hardware and software within 30 days of known requirement. The candidate shall engineer and maintain a back-up storage solution and perform back-ups. The candidate shall use system vulnerability scanning software, apply software patches and STIG updates to harden systems and mitigate findings as required (via software patches, optical media, and/or authorized websites); assist the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) with completing accreditation package requirements, provide artifacts, and documentation (for those systems that the candidate is not itself serving as ISSM); troubleshoot hardware and software issues; assist Squadron personnel with access and use of the connected systems. When directed by the government, the candidate will assist with computer system, video teleconference, and audio/visual upgrades and changes. Specifically, the candidate will conduct research analysis on available hardware, software, peripherals, or other equipment to determine the most effective and cost-efficient options for satisfying government requirements. The candidate will assist the government in managing the purchase, delivery, installation, and configuration of any new systems, upgrades, or changes.
The candidate will perform the following Simulation Display (SIMDIS) system functions: routine system checks, ensure all recording and monitoring functions are active, and address basic technical issues as they arise; verify system health, document irregularities, and complete initial troubleshooting steps (i.e., restarting services, validating connectivity, and confirming configuration status). When issues cannot be resolved within the defined troubleshooting scope, the candidate will promptly escalate to the senior tech or other designated entities, provide clear notes, timestamps, and observed behaviors to support efficient follow‑through and resolution.

Minimum Training, Education, and Certifications
- Minimum of two years' experience working as a Systems Administrator.
- Contractor employees performing Systems Administration tasks shall have a current A+/A+ ce and Security+/Security+ ce certification

Physical Requirements
- Required to stand, walk and sit; communicate verbally both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking (including stairs) throughout offices and between buildings. May require use of public transportation, personal or Government vehicle to drive to local and/or remote office locations.
