Wire EDM Specialist – Precision Moldmaking

We are hiring for a leading manufacturer of Class 101 injection molds, known for delivering high-performance molds with exceptional precision. Our clientele spans industries such as medical devices, automotive, and consumer products. Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Wire EDM Specialist to join our team. This role involves setting up, programming, operating, and inspecting wire EDM machines to produce complex, one-of-a-kind parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wire EDM processes and a commitment to precision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Setup & Operation:
• • Set up and operate wire EDM machines, ensuring proper fixturing and accurate machining.
  • Program jobs from 2D drawings and solid models using CAD/CAM software.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and inspect work using precision measuring tools.
• Process Optimization & Troubleshooting:
• • Optimize machining parameters to achieve desired surface finishes and tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation, programming, or part quality.
  • Collaborate with other team members to address and resolve production challenges.
• Maintenance & Continuous Improvement:
• • Perform routine maintenance on EDM machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating and programming wire EDM machines in a moldmaking or precision machining environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for programming EDM machines.
• Skills:
• • Strong knowledge of wire EDM processes, including material removal rates, surface finishes, and electrode wear.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools to inspect parts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Education:
• • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.
