CNC and Industrial Machinery Service Specialist
Job Description
Job Description CNC and Industrial Machinery Service Specialist
Location: Novi, Michigan
Engagement: Contract through Dec. 2026
Compensation: Up to $32.50 per hour (based on proven work history)
A day in the life
You arrive on the floor with a clear plan: keep production moving. First stop is a CNC cell showing alarms—you dig into electrical troubleshooting, trace the issue, and return the machine to service. After that, you move to a manual lathe that needs reassembly. You’ve already torn it down and identified worn components, so you machine a small replacement part, reinstall it, and verify tolerances. Midday, you team up with a Mobile Equipment Mechanic to inspect forklifts and building systems, performing preventative maintenance to avoid downtime. Before wrapping up, you handle some light building work—tightening an electrical connection, clearing a plumbing trap, and patching a small cement area—to keep the facility safe and operational.
What you’ll take on
- Maintain, install, and repair a wide range of machine tools and plant equipment
- Tear down damaged or defective units; reassemble after replacing/repairing worn parts
- Perform limited machining to fabricate or tune replacement components as needed
- Diagnose and fix electrical issues on CNC, manual, and other plant machines
- Execute preventative maintenance on building systems, production machinery, and mobile equipment
- Partner with Machine Repair and Mobile Equipment Mechanics to resolve issues quickly
- Handle minor facility tasks: light electrical, plumbing, and cement work
What you bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- Hands-on experience in machine tool maintenance, installation, and repair
- Proficiency with electrical troubleshooting and CNC machine repair
- Background in plumbing, manual machine repair, preventative maintenance, building equipment upkeep, mobile equipment maintenance, light electrical work, and cement work
