Medical Front Desk Representative
Location: Monroeville, PA (with 10% of travel to the second closest office)
Pay: $18-$21/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
Availability Required: Must be available between 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Medical Front Desk Representative to join a growing ophthalmology practice in the Monroeville area. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients and play a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience from check-in through check-out.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the office each day
- Check patients in and out for appointments
- Collect and verify patient information, insurance cards, and identification
- Gather and review referral records and pre-visit documentation
- Assess referral information to determine appointment urgency and appropriate scheduling timelines
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Collect copays and self-pay balances
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate patient records within the practice management system
- Support office operations and administrative functions as needed
- Travel occasionally (approximately 10%) to a nearby office location when needed
Qualifications
- Previous medical front desk experience required
- Strong check-in/check-out experience is highly preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional and pleasant phone demeanor
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Reliable transportation for occasional travel between office locations
