The firms founder attorney, Steven Alexander Biolsi, graduated from The City University Of New York School Of Law in 2004 and began his practice the day after being admitted to New York States Bar. Initially located in Forest Hills, Queens, the firm grew and relocated to Wall Street in 2013. Since 2005, Steven has been recognized by the Queens Borough President and state and federal legislators for his contributions to the community while building a reputation of excellent litigation skills and advocacy in the court room. Job Title: Attorney (Trial & Appellate)
Job Type: Salary/Exempt, Full Time
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 annual
Hours/Shift: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Subject to change based on business needs)
Reports to: Principal Attorney
Summary Job Description
- Organize Case Files: Monitor calendar, adhere to deadlines, maintain updated client databases
- Strong time management and anticipate performance prior to deadlines
- Develop Cases: Maintain contact with parties, coordinate discovery & investigation
- Maintain open communication with clients regarding case progression and related cost and expenses control
- Draft necessary and persuasive documents: Pleadings, motion papers, memoranda, demands, and notices
- Prepare for trial, including comprehensive analysis and trial notebook assembly
- Strategize and negotiate settlements of civil disputes
- Independently ensure efficient capture of expected billable hours
- Comprehensive legal research
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate
- Must have admission to New York State Courts
- Must obtain admission to Federal District Courts within 18 months of employment
- A minimum of 2 years as litigation attorney
- A minimum of 2 years of drafting motion papers or pleadings
- Strong understanding of the rules of procedure
- Proficiency in trial court rules
- Demonstrated command of legal research
- Ability to assess case-specific needs, including independent and collaborative efforts as warranted
- Computer literacy necessary including modern software and database operations
- Punctuality in work performance, attendance, court appearances
