The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth by developing referral relationships, promoting agency services, and converting qualified leads into active clients. This role focuses on increasing brand awareness in the community, establishing partnerships with healthcare providers, and representing the agency with professionalism and integrity.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development and Outreach
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referral sources such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, physicians' offices, case managers, and community organizations.
- Conduct regular onsite visits, presentations, lunches, and outreach activities to promote agency services.
- Identify new market opportunities, emerging partnerships, and community events to expand network reach.
- Maintain a proactive outreach plan with weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals.
- Respond promptly to incoming inquiries from potential clients and families.
- Conduct initial needs assessments and explain available home care services in a clear, compassionate manner.
- Coordinate and schedule inhome assessments with the clinical/administrative team.
- Follow up with prospective clients consistently to increase conversion rates.
- Meet or exceed sales and referral targets set by the agency.
- Represent the agency professionally at networking events, senior expos, health fairs, and community meetings.
- Distribute marketing materials and ensure all outreach collateral is uptodate.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, promotions, and social media initiatives.
- Track outreach efforts, referral data, and lead activity in CRM or agency documentation systems.
- Prepare weekly sales reports and updates for leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of meetings, contacts, and followup actions.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, social services, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of sales experience, preferably in healthcare, senior services, homecare, or related industries.
- Existing relationships with local healthcare providers is a strong plus.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationshipbuilding skills.
- Comfortable meeting weekly outreach activity goals and tracking performance.
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and prioritize effectively.
- Compassionate, patient, and able to connect with seniors and their families.
- Basic proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, email, and mobile apps.
- Frequent travel throughout the service area for outreach and meetings.
- Occasional evening or weekend events depending on networking or referral opportunities.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs for marketing materials or event supplies.
- $65,000 to $75,000 Depending on Experience
