UNIT: Neuro MS/TELE RN
\n MGR INTERVIEW
\n
Required Certs: Must have current active IL RN license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.
\n Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med Surg/TELE, 1 travel assignment. Neuro experience required
\n
Float Requirement: Could float to the medical unit
\n
On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
\n
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend. Every other holiday.
\n
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required
\n .
\n Patient Population: Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients – CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiogram. General medical
\n Skillset: Will also need to be comfortable taking medical overflow patients.
\n NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I’s & O’s/straight cath/Foleys, intitate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
\n Unit Information: 22 bed Neuro unit - Ratio: 1:4 | Charge nurse will have patient assignment
