Talon Hiring has a client in the Hoover, AL are that is looking for a detailed Specification Writer to support the development and coordination of technical specifications and project manuals across a diverse portfolio of building types and project phases. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all project specifications are accurate, comprehensive, and fully aligned with architectural drawings, codes, and client requirements.

What you will do:
- Prepare and coordinate architectural specifications in collaboration with project teams
- Develop, maintain, and manage project manuals using specification software
- Partner with architects, engineers, consultants, and project managers to ensure consistency between drawings and specifications
- Research and evaluate products, materials, and building systems for appropriate inclusion
- Monitor and incorporate updates to building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Maintain and improve specification templates and contribute to firm-wide standards
- Review submittals and support construction administration related to technical compliance
- Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and constructibility
What you will bring:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 35 years of experience in specification writing or a technical architecture role
- Strong knowledge of CSI MasterFormat, building materials, construction methods, and codes
- Proficiency with specification software tools
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
