Fire Safety Coordinator: Part time role $24-25/hour

Summary:

This position assists Safety Coordinator/Manager with Fire related items listed below.

Job Responsibilities:

Monitoring and ensuring fire code compliance of:

  1. Barriers placed in front of exits
  2. Construction impediments of egress corridors and exits
  3. Freight containers placed in hazardous locations near electrical infrastructure or in front of exhibit hall dock exits
  4. Freight bins containing “scrape lumber” and other combustible materials stored inside the building in the dock areas, “boneyards”.
  5. Interior exhibit hall emergency exit access is blocked
  6. Maintaining “fire wall” door access and monitor fire door propping
  7. Monitoring occupancy rates
  8. Propane use and storage
  9. Propane fueled forklift operation periods, propane tank installation and dismantling, and storage of tanks
  10. Combustible fuel powered vehicles must have less than 25% fuel capacity placed on display inside the facilities
  11. Electric Vehicle (EV) placed on display inside the buildings
  12. Lithium-Ion battery use/charging/storage
  13. Maintaining and use of emergency lanes
  14. Alarm audibles turned off for special circumstances (i.e. smoke machines, combustible fuel engine use, other smoke creating tools)
  15. Use of welding or “hot” cutting
  16. Use of Pyrotechnics
  17. Use of helium inside the building
  18. Food preparation and use of combustibles
  19. Fire Extinguisher Inventory and Maintenance
  20. Automated External Defibrillator (AED’s) Inventory and Maintenance
  21. Evacuation Chair Inventory and Maintenance
  22. Schedule Fire Marshals/Fire Watch staff
  23. Any other Safety related items as assigned by Safety & Training Coordinator

Compliance with these regulations and recommendations is paramount to reduce injury, and/or damage to property, and the liability associated with such injury or damage.
