The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach primary responsibility is to lead the women’s volleyball program in a manner that directly aligns with the mission and values of Simpson University and the Simpson University Athletic Department. The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach will be responsible for oversight and administration of all aspects of the program which will include recruiting, player development, coaching, fundraising, compliance, budget management, and developing a positive and Christ-centered culture.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
2. Minimum five years successful collegiate coaching and recruiting experience.
3. Demonstrated ability to serve as a strong Christian role model/mentor for student-athletes.
4. Demonstrated ability to intentionally contribute to the spiritual development of student-athletes.
5. Demonstrated ability to integrate faith in teaching, coaching and team culture.
6. Demonstrated ability to develop a recruiting plan to attract, recruit, and retain quality student athletes who are institutionally fit and can succeed at Simpson University.
7. Must have a clear plan for academic success and accountability of student-athletes.
8. Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal.
9. Demonstrated ability develop a competitive sports program with knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.

Essential Functions:
1. Maintain established program roster size goal and discount rate established by the university.
2. Coordinate with and oversee beach volleyball program
3. Demonstrate Simpson University Values in the performance of all duties.
4. Maintain lifestyle in accordance with Simpson University Lifestyle Policy in Staff Handbook.
5. Provide Christ-centered, servant-leadership in all areas of the women’s volleyball program.
6. Provide accountability and discipline for student-athletes spiritually, socially, academically and athletically.
7. Recruit and retain quality student-athletes who can succeed academically and are an institutional fit.
8. Effectively manage operating budget.
9. Maintain the confidentiality of information, data and records.
10. Supervises assistant coaches in accordance with Simpson University policies and procedures.
11. Perform other duties in accordance with this position as deemed necessary by the athletic director.
12. Must possess current certification in First Aid and CPR.
Related Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate team travel
2. Organize and run summer volleyball camps in coordination with university advancement office.
3. Meet established annual fundraising goals.
4. Assist with gameday management with other sports as needed.
5. Know and comply with all conference rules and requirements for women’s volleyball, including stats, game hosting, etc.
6. Effectively use social media to promote women’s volleyball program.
7. Have awareness, accountability and educate student-athletes on the proper use of social media.
