Plumbing Engineer - Elk Grove Village, IL
Our client is a growing MEP Engineering firm located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join our collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and institutional projects, with a strong focus on educational facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings, including:
- Domestic water distribution systems
- Storm drainage systems
- Water heater sizing
- Storm and ejector system sizing
- Prepare plumbing construction documents and design drawings
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering teams
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and project requirements
- Conduct field surveys and site visits to document existing conditions
- Participate in client meetings and help develop long-term client relationships
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building and energy codes
Qualifications:
- MEP plumbing design experience
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of plumbing system design and construction documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, but not required
