Your expertise will be vital in assisting students with diverse needs while you coordinate resources and advocate for mental health support throughout the school community. The assignment is set to begin in September and will continue until a permanent hire is determined internally. Caseload and working hours will be confirmed closer to the assignment's start.
What you’ll bring:
- Current New York State School Social Worker (SSW) certification
- Active LMSW or LCSW license
- Previous experience providing social work within school settings
- Outstanding communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and student needs
In this role, you will:
- Offer direct social-emotional support to students and families
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and support staff to develop intervention plans
- Assist with crisis prevention and intervention
- Connect families with relevant resources and referrals
- Contribute to the creation of a healthy school climate
