Job DescriptionOur law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. $120,000+ depending on experience & performance
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
- Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
- Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases
- Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
- Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants
- Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
- Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
