Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing the sales team while driving sales performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, and overall dealership success.
We are looking for a high-energy, people-focused leader who can set clear expectations, hold the team accountable, and create a fun, competitive, and successful sales environment.
The ideal candidate will lead by example, build strong relationships with customers and employees, and work closely with dealership and Automotive Group leadership to achieve sales and performance goals.
Essential Duties
- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the sales team to achieve individual and dealership goals
- Create a positive, energetic, and team-oriented sales environment
- Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development to sales team members
- Assist sales consultants with customer interactions, negotiations, and closing deals
- Monitor daily, monthly, and annual sales performance and develop strategies to achieve goals
- Drive sales volume, profitability, customer retention, and customer satisfaction
- Maintain strong knowledge of current vehicle products, features, technology, incentives, and programs
- Monitor inventory and ensure vehicles are properly displayed, priced, and merchandised
- Stay informed on market conditions, competition, and customer demand
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
- Work collaboratively with Finance, Service, Parts, and other dealership departments
- Monitor customer satisfaction and take action to address concerns and improve the customer experience
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing automotive sales
- Participate in manager meetings, training, and Automotive Group initiatives as requested
- Lead by example and be willing to jump in and support the team when needed
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Previous automotive sales and/or sales management experience
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop a sales team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Goal-oriented with a passion for sales and achieving results
- Strong understanding of the automotive sales process
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Positive, energetic personality with a passion for people and leadership
- Ability to create a fun, competitive, and accountable team culture
- Valid Driver's License
