Per Diem Copyright Attorney (Remote)
Start up tech company is seeking qualified Copyright Attorneys to provide live, online legal counsel to creators seeking advice related to the protection, use, and distribution of their creative works. This position is offered on a per diem basis and is conducted remotely. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising clients directly, the ability to efficiently assess legal issues and provide clear, concise, and practical guidance in a real-time setting.
Responsibilities
Provide live online legal consultations to clients on copyright-related matters.
Advise on copyright ownership, licensing, infringement, fair use, and distribution rights
Efficiently identify client needs and deliver accurate, focused legal counsel within set time limits
Draft and/or edit brief and concise meeting summaries
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Extensive direct client counseling experience with an emphasis on time efficiency
Strong working knowledge of U.S. copyright law
Copyright litigation experience is preferred but not required
Professional malpractice insurance is required, or the ability to obtain coverage
