Our client seeks a Senior AWS Cloud Developer to build scalable backend services for digital financial experiences. The team modernizes mainframe capabilities and delivers reusable Java applications that power customer-focused platforms. You will contribute across the development lifecycle within an agile team, advocate for engineering best practices, and lead design for reliable, performant, and secure distributed systems. You will influence product roadmaps, champion automation and DevSecOps, and collaborate with partners across business and technology domains.

Rate: $75.00 to $80.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
- Define and advocate engineering best practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
- Drive technical vision and influence product roadmaps through strategic thinking and innovation.
- Challenge existing solutions and propose scalable, maintainable alternatives.
- Lead the design of complex, distributed systems emphasizing reliability, performance, and security.
- Ensure alignment of architecture and leadership with organizational goals and standards.
- Champion automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices for efficient delivery.
- Collaborate with global teams and participate in key technical discussions.
- Contribute across the software lifecycle from concept to deployment within agile teams.
Experience Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable backend services.
- Hands-on Java 11+ with Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and RESTful API development.
- Microservices design, event-driven architecture, messaging with Kafka and SQS, caching with Redis, and SQL/NoSQL data modeling.
- AWS provisioning and development with services such as SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Kinesis, and EKS.
- Designing and documenting secure, performant, and scalable RESTful APIs.
- Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Building CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
- Relational and NoSQL database experience, including SQL, table creation, and version control tooling such as Liquibase.
- Testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Test.
- Agile methodologies including Kanban and Scrum.
- Nice to have: CloudFormation templates and Terraform.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
