As a Security Officer - Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor galleries and public areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will greet guests, assist staff and visitors, and communicate clearly while documenting observations and responding to situations with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a museum and cultural venue setting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing directions, coordinating access control, and requesting additional support as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, exhibit spaces, offices, loading areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor alarms, surveillance systems, and radio communications; document observations and incident details in written reports and/or electronic systems per Allied Universal and location requirements.
  • Support opening and closing routines, assist with crowd flow during special events, and help manage restricted area access for staff, contractors, and deliveries.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
