We are searching for a highly analytical applicant who is capable of working full-time and possesses strong negotiation and organizational abilities to join our growing firm as an estate planning attorney. You will create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for clients and their families, and educate them on matters of insurance and powers of attorney.
To guarantee that an estate is managed in accordance with the estate owner's intentions, this role demands a high degree of responsibility. We are searching for an applicant with substantial experience in estate planning. Please apply if this sounds like a great opportunity!
Compensation:
$95,000 - $110,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
- Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
- Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options
- Discuss plans with clients for distributing clients’ assets
- Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
- Draft, review, and finalize legal documents
- Conduct thorough legal research
- Participate in community outreach to educate and empower individuals about estate planning and elder law issues
Qualifications:
- Must have worked on estate planning and probate law issues for at least 1-2 years
- Excellent communication skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
- Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
- Active membership with the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Working knowledge of title insurance, wills, trusts, property management, and residential and commercial real estate law, including litigation
- Juris Doctor degree
- Excellent communication skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
- Knowledge of case management software programs, particularly Smokeball, is a plus
- 1-2 years of estate planning and probate law issues (inc. Guardianship/Conservatorship) is a plus, but not required
- A desire to grow individually while also giving back
