Communication & Marketing Manager I
Location: Houston, TX, United States
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Pay Rate: $31.85–$40.74/hr
Job Purpose:
This position develops and executes regional marketing and communication strategies for the Subsea business. As the Marketing Communications Manager – Subsea, you will drive product awareness, adoption, and customer engagement through impactful storytelling and integrated communication plans. Working closely with product marketing, sales, and communications teams, you will translate complex technical and engineering concepts into clear, compelling messages tailored to diverse audiences. Your efforts will reinforce the company's reputation as a leading technology innovator in both traditional and emerging energy markets, acting as an orchestrator who ensures all relevant groups collaborate on a shared go-to-market strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies across media outreach, social media, email marketing, and thought leadership initiatives, from vision and messaging platform through production — on time and within budget.
- Create product messaging and content that connects with target audiences and drives adoption.n
- Collaborate with product marketing and sales teams to shape communication strategies that highlight product features, benefits, and target market.
- Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape to identify new messaging opportunities.
- Gain and maintain Subsea business knowledge
- Support Voice of Customer (VoC) initiatives and programs
- Foster customer loyalty, satisfaction, retention, and growth through customer marketing and advocacy
- Measure and optimize campaign effectiveness in partnership with the communications operations team
- Implement and refine programs to drive marketing impact, collaborating with demand generation teams, area communications teams, and enabling sales and partner teams
- Lead cross-functional efforts by partnering across a large, matrixed global organization — including technical and engineering stakeholders outside your direct reporting lines
- Provide advisory and consultative guidance to content authors and contributors
Requirements:
- 5+ years of B2B technology marketing/communications experience
- 3–5 years in marketing, communications, or similar roles
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field
- Energy sector experience preferred, ideally including exposure to energy transition or New Energy/sustainability communications
- Strong knowledge of PR/media relations, CMS, and marketing automation platforms
- Proven track record building go-to-market campaigns tied to revenue impact
- Experience creating integrated content across all marketing channels: digital, social media, paid media, offline, and print
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-influence skills across a broad range of stakeholders
- Strategic thinker able to see the bigger picture while managing campaign details
- Strong process management skills, with the ability to self-motivate and prioritize across multiple projects
- Experience supporting brand and reputation management for a technical B2B company in a highly regulated or industrial sector
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Experience communicating around organizational values tied to safety, integrity, quality, and sustainability
- ESG or sustainability communications experience
- Prior experience in industrial, energy, or other highly regulated industries
