Responsibilities:
This position requires someone who will lead by example – this means being friendly and helpful to neighbors and their pets, proactively fronting stock and rotating inventory, booking grooming appointments with a smile, and more.
Be a “right hand person” for the store lead manager in all respects; as a critical member of the store management team, it’s up to you to help set the atmosphere, expectations, tone and culture for all other employees.
Must be able to effectively prioritize tasks in order of importance.
Able to guide other team members to accomplish all store tasks on or before deadline and with a quality mindset.
Actively engage in conversations with neighbors to help answer questions and guide them in making the right choice for their pet(s).
Create a fun and positive environment for your team and your neighbors, as well as a reputation for providing neighborly, knowledgeable, trustworthy and pet-centric service.
Adhering to and enforcing store operational policies and procedures, including animal care, safety, cleanliness, security measures, and more.
Cultivate a learning culture in a multitude of ways, including but not limited to offering development and training opportunities, and providing necessary coaching and feedback to team members.
Your qualifications include:
- Retail experience strongly preferred but not required
- The ability to work a flexible schedule which will include nights and weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent required, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Ability to operate all store equipment, such as a forklift and other machinery as necessary
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and have reliable transportation
- Successfully pass a drug screening and background check
