Advanced Wireless Communications (AWC) is seeking a skilled Two-Way Radio (DAS) Field Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of wireless communication systems across a range of retail and long-term care customers. This position requires flexible travel and hands-on expertise with DAS infrastructure and two-way radio systems including Kenwood, Motorola, and other OEM equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain DAS infrastructure, repeaters, combiners, and AWC proprietary systems.
- Troubleshoot, program, and repair all tiers of two-way radios, portables, mobiles, and network components.
- Read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, and wiring documentation.
- Interface with engineering, production, and quality teams for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and repair reports.
- Provide support and training to fellow technicians and collaborate with sales on demo/loaner equipment.
- Use and maintain test equipment such as service monitors, spectrum analyzers, watt meters, and multimeters.
- Some weekend work required
Qualifications:
- Experience maintaining and repairing two-way communications systems and ERCES systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills down to the component level (analog/digital circuitry).
- Knowledge of Kenwood, Motorola, and Vertex radio systems.
- PLT certification preferred (registered or unregistered in progress).
- Proficient in test instrumentation and service procedures.
- AS degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent certification + 3+ years’ experience preferred.
- Military engineering/communications background encouraged to apply.
- Valid driver’s license required.
