Job Description

Harris Hands Community Services, Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional/ Driver for our Without Walls Day/Supplemental Habilitation Programs. The ideal candidate must be reliable and maintain a positive and professional attitude while fostering a supportive environment, and enjoy supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a community-based setting. They must document provided services accurately and efficiently, and utilize Computer skills to enter data into the online database system (Therap).

Qualifications for this position must include:

High School Diploma or G.E.D
Must pass all OPWDD background tests
Must have NYS Driver's License
Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van, with three years of experience driving a 15 passenger van
Must have previous experience working with the ID/DD population.
Must be creative, a team player, flexible, have conflict resolution skills, and be able to complete paperwork on time.

Additional Qualifications include:

Strong reliability and compassionate approach to care
Making sure all individuals are engaging in daily activities
Effective Reading and writing skills for documentation
Proficiency in computer use to manage program records

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
1 Saturday a month for meetings, Virtual / unless there is in-person training

There is no overnight shift available. Employees may be asked to work mandatory overtime. Serious inquiries only.
