Groundskeeping Full Time Day shifts M-F, possible rotating weekends

Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:


Performs skilled Groundskeeping tasks and is responsible for maintaining a visually appealing and functional outdoor space for our residents and guests to enjoy; proficiency in plant identification of common plant names; ability to perform installation, foliage maintenance, and basic clean up. A Groundskeeper is someone who has a passion for working outside, regardless of the weather. They have a detailed understanding of which plants work best for their climate and plant flowers and other greenery in accordance with the seasons.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the care, maintenance and beatification of our community and resort plant beds.
• Responsible for trimming/pruning shrubs, ground covers, vines and some trees and palms with hand-held tools and power equipment.
• Performs removal, installation and maintenance of plant material in beds and containers, and manual weeding.
• Operating and maintaining hand tools, such as loppers, saws, and shovels efficiently.
• Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment, golf carts, trailers, and power tools.
• Keeping grounds free from trash, litter, and debris, and leaves, needles and other dead plant materials.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team
• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

• High school degree or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Three to five years landscape maintenance experience, preferably in a commercial, residential or resort environment required;
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to operate various loud and vibrating maintenance tools and equipment
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and move safely over uneven terrain.
• Able to work inside and outdoors and in various climates

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:


Valid Florida Drivers License Required.
