The Engineering Technician will be responsible for activities related to system design, testing, commissioning, and installation of equipment. The role includes performing system check-out and advanced mechanical and electrical testing and troubleshooting as needed. This position is ideal for candidates interested in international travel and offers a clean work environment with opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and prepare mechanical and electrical panels, including components such as CAT5, electronics, and servos.
- Mount panels to respective machines according to schematics.
- Install control panels for machines.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools.
- Troubleshoot and debug equipment with the engineering team.
- Work directly from schematics and blueprints.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work with schematics and wiring for mechanical and electrical testing.
- Experience in PLC programming.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and engineering test equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- AAS Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering.
- 3 years of mechanical manufacturing experience in field service or installations.
- 3 years of experience reading and working from blueprints and electrical schematics.
Work Environment
The work environment is a clean, state-of-the-art facility specializing in building proprietary laser machines for various industries, primarily Aerospace. The location has approximately 55-60 employees and is part of a larger corporation headquartered in Italy. The role involves working in the shop and occasionally traveling to client sites for equipment installation and commissioning. Candidates should be prepared to handle customer interactions and work efficiently in demanding situations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CHAMPLIN, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
