This opportunity offers a 3-month contract to hire position for a licensed pharmacist in Cranberry Township, PA, working 40 hours per week. The pharmacy operates with extended hours to provide excellent service throughout the week:
- Monday through Friday: 8 am – 6 pm
- Saturday: 8 am – 4 pm
- Sunday: 8 am – 3 pm
Pharmacists will utilize operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC to support daily responsibilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care patients.
- Inspecting blister-packed medications and reviewing sterile and non-sterile medication preparations.
- Responding to phone inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed.
- Counting controlled substances and maintaining accurate records in the perpetual inventory system.
- Checking emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness and compliance.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.
- Registered and licensed pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing.
- A minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience preferred, especially in long-term care settings.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, and visual acuity; capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
